Day Ride South Shore Lake Camanche

Saturday, July 25th

Ride-out time 9:00 a.m.
11700 Wade Lane, Valley Springs.

South Shore Camanche has two different trails that you can choose from. If you are looking for a nice place to hike or just an easy trail for a beginner rider or horse you can take the West MCCTC which is approximately 2.3 miles to the end and is not a loop so you would be taking the same trail out and back.  This ride is very pretty and open and has a lot of room for schooling.  You will mostly ride through the grasslands and be surrounded by the oaks and gray pines. You will have a road to cross with a gate on each side at the very beginning of the ride, but other than that you should have a great time with no major obstacles.

Bring a lunch and beverage for after the ride.

From Wilton:  Take Alta Mesa Road south to Liberty Road, turn LEFT (east).  Continue on Liberty Rd. to  Highway 88 and turn RIGHT.   Hwy 88 dead-ends at Highway 12.   Turn Left and follow Highway 12 to Camanche Parkway S. Turn Left on Camanche Parkway S and follow for a few miles. This road seamlessly changes names to Pattison Road and goes into the park.  When road changes names there will be an option to turn right onto Camanche Parkway S.  Do NOT turn.  Keep going straight on Pattison which changes names again to Wade Ln / Camanche Rd.  The road stays the same.  A short distance after going through the park entrance gate, you will see a gravel road on your right leading up to the staging area.

You can purchase trail permits at the gate, or advanced purchase online at www.trailpermit.ebmud.com –  No dogs, bikes, or ATV’s aloud on these trails.
